Transforming Lives
Empowering South Sudanese for a Future of Dignity, Independence, and Prosperity
Who We Are
ASK Foundation, founded in 2022 by young South Sudanese, is dedicated to ensuring that every citizen benefits from the country’s Independence and Prosperity. With a focus on dignity and community transformation, the foundation has already made significant strides, including food donations to hospitals and schools and the installation of over 20 boreholes in four states. These efforts have revitalized once-abandoned communities, turning them into thriving areas. Driven by a commitment to lasting change, ASK Foundation is building a brighter future for South Sudan.
What We Do
Terekeka and Pibor
We conducted thorough assessments in these areas to identify the need for clean drinking water. As part of our ongoing commitment, we plan to install 8 boreholes in each location to provide sustainable water access, subject to feasibility.
Gokmachar and Aweil Town
Our team visited the Gokmachar and Aweil main hospitals to evaluate their critical needs. We are now working to mobilize the necessary funds to support them. Additionally, we visited a women’s school in Gokmachar, which is in urgent need of stationery, uniforms, and financial aid for students who are unable to afford these essentials.
Bahr el Ghazal Tour (June 2024)
In June, our executive board and staff embarked on a tour of Bahr el Ghazal, a long-overlooked region. During our visits to several key locations, we were deeply moved by the resilience of the communities despite the harsh conditions. This experience reaffirmed our determination to prioritize support for this region.
Wau
During our time in Wau, we identified a critical need for clean drinking water. As part of our climate change initiatives, our team also planted trees at Auxilium Primary School to promote environmental sustainability. Additionally, the Wau Central Prison requires new boreholes, and one existing borehole is in need of repair.
Alek Aguok and Kuac Town
We held productive discussions with government representatives and hospital staff in these areas. We pledged our support for room repairs and hospital improvements, as well as assistance with borehole installations to enhance water accessibility.
Upcoming Tour
The upcoming tour in Lakes State will begin in Yirol and continue through Rumbek, Apuk Kiir Thiik, Twic Mayardit, Tonj, and Abyei, depending on road conditions.
